Headed to Vegas!

Brandon and I are headed to Vegas....as we speak (as I type I guess I should say)!  We are meeting Chris and Julie, my college roomie and her husband in just a few short hours.  I am excited to finally go to Vegas and hang out with the Raines'!

Neither Brandon nor myself have ever been.  I know it will be nice for us to get away for a few days, but I am already desperately missing Hadley :(  I have seen so many babies in the airport today and I am feeling so guilty that we left ours behind.  But I know she is is good hands.  My mom is helping with her today and Friday, and Brandon's parents are helping with her Saturday and Sunday.  We get home Sunday night and I already can't wait to get my hands on my sweet girl!

The weather looks great for our 3 day trip (hot, but I plan on some serious pool time)!  Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!

Signing off from the Denver airport (love my mac!)

9 months!

Hadley is 9 months old....3/4 of a year!  Crazy how fast it has gone by.  I can hardly believe I am already planning her first birthday party!  Here are some stats for my little sweetie.

  • 18 lbs 6 oz (50th percentile) and 27 7/8 inches (75th percentile)
  • 4 teeth with a couple more on the way any day now!
  • 3 meals a day (bottle and solids) and a bottle before bed.  She LOVES food!  We are letting her feed herself finger type foods now (bits of fruit like bannana, peaches, pears, cheese, deli turkey, gerber puffs, brocoli, etc.)
  • Can move pretty quick now, although she still isn't full on crawling on just her hands and knees. She is still dragging her little body along.
  • She is wearing 6-9 month clothing right now, but is probably ready for 9-12 month.  Need to hit up a consignment sale soon!
  • Sleeping from about 7:30 or 8:00 till around 6:00-6:30....she's an early bird :)
  • Starting to pull up on things like mommy or daddy when we are with her in the floor, and also on the bottom drawer in the kitchen. She loves knobs on the drawers!
  • Still says ba-ba-ba and da-da-da, waiting on ma-ma-ma!
  • Her hair is starting to lighten up and starting to grow a little longer finally. I can't wait till I can put a bow in her hair.
  • She things her daddy is soooo funny! She laughs every time she sees him!
  • Still not interested in holding her own bottle or sippy cup.  She will hold her own cup by the time she is 5, right?
  • She loves blocks, ball type toys, and books.
  • One gross thing she does that is funny - when Riley gives her "kisses," she has started opening her mouth and sticks her tongue out.  Gross!  But for some reason she likes it!

Brandon's First Father's Day

Brandon had a great first Father's Day (minus our trip to the zoo we missed with the Pratt's due to the rainy day).  We started out with opening a few gifts that Hadley picked out specially for her Daddy, a new Garmin and personalized ball markers for golf.  I found them on etsy and thought they were super cute!  I even ordered one that said Happy First Fathers Day with a little heart and Hadley's name.

We went to Cracker Barrel for a nice breakfast.  Hadley loved her pancake and few bites of scrambled egg.....until she broke out in red dots later that day.  I think she is allergic to eggs : /  Hoping she will outgrow it.

We also took Hadley to Carmax.....when we get bored, we like to go look at cars :)

Something smells!

So late this afternoon I was busy doing laundry and cooking for Hadley when I smelt something terrible.....like burning rubber.  I looked around the kitchen and couldn't find where the smell was coming from.  I walked down the hall to the laundry room and saw smoke!  I thought the smoke was coming from the dryer, but had Brandon come investigate to be sure.  Turns out, it was actually the washing machine.  Completely died right in the middle of my 4th load of laundry - thankfully this was my last load of the day.  I was upset for about 20 seconds, and then I got really excited because I've been wanting a nice set of front loaders!  Brandon has too, but we couldn't justify investing in a new washer/dryer when we had a perfectly good pair.  So, I pulled out my soggy clothes, wrung them out, threw then in the dryer, and we headed for Home Depot/Lowes/H.H. Gregg!

Here is what we left with (well, not really left with....they will be delivered in a few days).  I am so excited!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend!

Friday, Goddard was closed so Brandon stayed home with Hadley while I worked.  He brought her up to TVA around lunch and we go to show her off and then have lunch at Market Square!

Saturday my nephew graduated high school in Nashville.  I cannot believe he is a graduate and on his was to UT this fall (majoring in Engineering)!  Brandon went to a bachelor party Saturday in Gatlinburg while me and the Hadster went to Nashville for graduation and a family cookout to celebrate.

While I was in Nashville, I stopped by the Jones' house and met their little bundle of joy, Clayton!  He was SO precious!  I am so glad I finally got to meet this little cutie pie.

Sunday, our friends baby was baptized, and we went to a wonderful luncheon at their house to celebrate.  I loved all the little babies that were there!

Monday we had family pictures taken.  I've been wanting to get some done since Hadley was born.  I'm hoping they turned out good!  It was only like 99 degrees outside when we were getting them done, haha!  Here's Hadley getting ready for the big photo shoot, she loves chewing on her wash clothes!

Once a month mom?

Have any of you run across this site? http://onceamonthmom.com/

"Once A Month Mom helps you fill your freezer by creating monthly menus using seasonal recipes."

I am very tempted to give this a try!  They even have gluten free recipes and baby food recipes.  I am going to first try the baby food route. They make it so easy with the grocery list and step-by-step instructions to get all the cooking done quick!

Let me know if you have tried this!  I will post pictures from Memorial Day weekend soon!
