Monday musings

Yay for a slow(er) week at work!  Love having a little time Monday mornings to catch up on some of my favorite blogs.

There was literally a blizzard happening on my way to work this morning....hard to believe it is Spring with this crazy weather.  The groundhog lied!

We were couped up all weekend with lots of rain and cold temps. Brandon and I ran 12 miles on Saturday morning, our last long run before the half marathon on 4.7.13.  I am very excited for the actual race and I'm very excited I only have a 6 mile run this weekend.  My right ankle and right foot have really been bothering me.  I went to a physical therapist a couple weeks ago and she said my right hip was out of alignment.  She tried to realign it, but said I would likely need to be adjusted again.

Hadley has been saying the cutest things lately.  She has the best little memory and the sweetest little soul.  A few things I can remember off hand:

Me: Hadley, what should we get Mimi for her birthday?
Hadley: Ummm, cookies!!!

Hadley: Mommy take vitamins. Hadley take vitamins.
Me: Yes, we take our vitamins to be strong.
Hadley: Daddy not take vitamins. Riley not take vitamins. Daddy and Riley eat chicken nuggets.
Me: HAHAHAHA :)

She also is still singing Jingle Bells, at the end of March.  Not sure how to explain to a 2 year old that certain songs we only sing part of the year.  It's really precious though.  Speaking of Christmas, Brandon got a new toy delivered over the weekend...

Last year I got a good deal on "The Little Acre" raised garden bed.  I thought it would be fun for Hadley to help plant, water, and harvest veggies this spring and summer.  I really have no idea how to garden, per se, but this looked simple enough.  I've researched some fool proof veggies/herbs and here is our list so far of what we want to plant: beans, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, broccoli, okra, basil, cilantro and parsley.

I have a love/hate relationship with meal planning.  Hate sitting down to actually do it, but I love it when I've planned each meal and shopped for all the ingredients I'll need for the week.  This week we are having Cilantro grilled chicken with roasted veggies, Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps with steamed rice, and Crockpot Chicken tortilla soup

I am excited about all our Easter weekend festivities coming up this weekend!  Off work on Friday - hoping it's nice enough to take Hadley to the zoo or to the park and do some easter egg dying.  Saturday we have our neighborhood easter egg hunt and a 2 year old birthday party.  Sunday we will head to church and then over to the Skeen's to stuff ourselves :)

What I'm loving Wednesday

I'm loving that today is the first day of spring. All the sunshine over the weekend and this week is good for my soul!

I'm loving some of my etsy finds, especially this adorable Easter bucket I got Hadley. Can't wait to use this every Easter!

I'm loving we finally got our summer getaway booked (like this morning!). We are heading to Punta Cana to the Excellence in June....toddler free :)  This is our first trip without the Hadster.  We will miss her so much, but this trip is much needed!

Loving this cute idea for potty training - Potty Pops.  I think I may try to make one of these....and then I need to figure out how to tackle this whole potty training business...sigh.

I'm still loving my Barre workouts at Neighborhood Barre. Sweet girls, lots of lululemon, and a great workout!

Loving McFee Park, right down the road from us. Hadley had so much fun there over the weekend!  Sorry for the blinding white pale legs, first time we've seen the sun this year :)

We are trying to eat a little "cleaner" these days (and when I say "we", I mean "me").  It's not that big of a transition since I'm gluten free, but I'm enjoying trying new things and elimating certain foods from our diets.  Here is one of our favorite new receipes - Black Bean Spinach Enchiladas. It's amazing y'all.

We are loving Fellowship Church - we've been visiting there the past 5 or 6 weeks and have loved every week more and more.  I think we've found our new church!

Happy Wednesday!

I'm back!

Wow, just realized I haven't blogged in over 3 months...I think I need a little bloggy break.  Here's what we've been up to as of late...

Falcon's Game with my old firm, KPMG. Even saw some of Brandon's sweet family there!  My first NFL game :)  I even saw Appolo from Real Housewives of ATL....

Hadley had a sleep study to determine if she needed her tonsils out....verdict - YES!  She did sooo incredibly well with the study. Not alot of sleep for either of us, but she was an angel!

A few warm December days called for a driveway picnic!

Went to NYC for work for a few days. Amazing to see the city around Christmas time. I loved eating everything and site and running through Central Park. Can't wait to go back.

Celebrated Christmas with our sweet family. Hadley had croupe though :(

Celebrated NYE at our house with 8 other adults and 4 kids 2 or under...giant slumber party at our house!

30th Birthday Getaway to Asheville, planned by my sweet husband!

Superbowl Party at the McMahans!

Tonsilectomy....wow...never want to go though that again. A big thank you to my dad and stepmom for staying with Hadley a whole week!

Valentine's Day sweeetness...

Signed up for a half marathon - running with Brandon on 4.7.13!  We've been training and I can't wait! Also, a little new Lululemon gear and Garmin watch don't hurt ;)

Celebrated my mom's birthday with a litte Magpies!

Been cooking up a storm, will blog about some of my new favorites soon!

Random cuteness...

Promise I won't be gone so long next time!
