Christmas 2011 round 2

Hadley woke up around 7 on Christmas morning and I couldn't wait to see her open her gifts!  I wasn't sure if she would get the whole unwrapping presents, but she caught on quick!  We had a great time as a family of 3 opening our gifts before the rest of the crazy day unfolded!

With her new Melissa & Doug music set!

Seeing her kitchen for the first time!  It took Santa a long time to put this thing together!

After opening presents at home, we went to my mom's house to celebrate Christmas with my sister and her family and my mom.  We had a delicious breakfast and had a birthday cake for Jesus (with 3 candles for each of my mom's grandchildren!).  I didn't snag too many pictures at my mom's house.  Here are a couple!

We ran home around Hadley's typical nap time, but clearly she was too excited to sleep.  We tried for an hour to get her to nap, but we were unsuccessful.  So we decided to continue our day and go to my aunt's house to celebrate with my dad's side of the family.  We had a wonderful lunch and then opened more presents!

The girls and their stash!

Sharing pie with her Pa-pa and Nanny (my dad and stepmom)!

We couldn't resist putting her in this cute little bag!  She loved it, clearly!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

PS. I realized that I need a DSLR camera after trying to capture my active toddler on film this Christmas.
PSS "Santa". My birthday is in January :)  Nothing wrong with a late Christmas present!

Christmas 2011 round 1

We had such a great long weekend celebrating Christmas and spending time with the people we love most. I couldn't fit it all in one post, so this is part I of our 2011 Christmas!

We started off with a family breakfast on Friday (the 23rd) and then did some last minute Christmas shopping.

Mmm, waffles!

Riley patiently waiting for food to drop

Ready to go!

On Christmas eve, we went to celebrate with the Skeens.  We had a nice dinner and then went to the Christmas Eve service at their church in Jefferson City.

Cousins!

Look at those baby blues...she gets them from her daddy!

Mmmm, granna is a good cook!

More later!!

15 months and Merry Christmas!

Hadley turned 15 months this week. Wow!  Where has the time gone?!  Here's a couple quick stats for her.

  • 24 lbs 13 oz (80%) and around 30-31 inches (65%) and her head was in the 95% (I think it was 19 inches).
  • Size 4 diapers and size 12-18 month clothes.
  • One nap a day at noon.
  • Eats 3 meals + a snack everyday. Still a great eater, hence the first bullet :)
  • Loves, loves, loves BOOKS!  Brown Bear, Brown Bear is her current favorite.  We probably have read this no fewer than 25 times this week.  No lie.  She loves to pick out a book and comes in plops in our laps so we read it to her.  I love it!
  • Bedtime around 7:30 or so and sleeps soundly till around 7:00 the next morning.
  • Got tubes in her ears 2 weeks ago today.  I can't believe I didn't blog about it, but she did wonderfully!  Her poor little ears hopefully won't get infected like they had been.  The picture above is right before her surgery at Children's Surgery Center.
  • She is walking so well now and doesn't fall as much as she had.  She will be running in no time!
  • Her personality is really starting to shine now!  She's a little shy around strangers at first, but warms up pretty quick.  She is such a ham and loves to laugh!
  • No longer lets me rock her.  This week she has started to walk to her crib after her normal bedtime routine is over - bath, lotion, PJs, book, and this is when I would normally turn out the light and rock her, but now she gets down from the chair and walks right for the crib and reaches for it.  I'm definitely happy she loves going to bed but sad she doesn't want me to rock her night-night.  Once in a while she will let me though, and I take full advantage!
Can't believe it is already Christmas!  Brandon and I were off work today and got our last minute shopping in.  I snapped a couple pictures of our house all decorated.  I'm a red and green Christmas decorater, including our tree and wrapping paper.  Love these colors for Christmas!

We received so many Christmas cards this year. I love getting Christmas cards and love displaying each one of them.  This year I had to get creative and I saw a cute idea on Pinterest I tried.  Hung a ribbon on the wall and taped the back of each card to the ribbon.  Turned out so cute!

I want to share our favorite this year.  I seriously laugh out loud every time I see it.  At first I just saw Jack's face, but then I saw his daddy's face.  This is awesome!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
